Smith at Home for the Team - Monster Energy Grand Prix of France 2011

Posted on May 09, 2011 by Nick Harris

Tech3 riders Bradley Smith and Cal Crutchlow face the fourth round of the MotoGP World Championship with very different experiences of the Le Mans circuit but with one common denominator. Crutchlow has never ridden at the 2.600 miles Bugatti circuit, Smith has finished on the podium twice at the home race for their Monster Tech 3 team.

Twenty year old Smith secured his first 125 cc podium at Le Mans four years ago and since then has finished second, fourth and fifth. After a tremendous start to his Moto2 career he looks for a change of fortune after a rear wheel puncture kept him out of the points in Portugal.

Bradley Smith
I have some good memories of Le Mans and especially that first podium four years ago. Despite the big disappointment with the puncture in Estoril we were happy with the progress we’d made throughout the weekend. We had a real good talk after the race and face Le Mans with some real confidence. Of course I want to do well for the team who have supported me brilliantly at their home race and I want to get back to scoring points again.
