Smith chases 3rd Sepang Podium - Shell Advance Malaysian Grand Prix

Posted on Oct 17, 2011 by Nick Harris

Bradley Smith arrives in Malaysia reminding himself he has finished second on two occasions at the Sepang circuit as he prepares for the Shell Advance Grand Prix of Malaysia, the penultimate round of the Moto2 World Championship.

Despite his crash at the previous round in Australia the 20 year old Oxfordshire rider is still in with a chance of finishing fifth in the Championship riding the Tech3 machine.

Bradley Smith
“I was fourth at the time of the crash and feeling really confident of getting a podium, so to be not even in the points is difficult to accept. At the moment we don't seem to be able to catch a break and we've had some bad luck. But that's racing and once again we have shown the potential of the bike and I hope to be battling for the podium in Sepang in a few days."

German Stefan Bradl arrives in Sepang leading the Moto2 World Championship once again but by just three points.  Eighteen years old Marc Marquez may have relinquished that lead but psychologically he’s on top after starting from the back of the grid in Australia to finish in third place only one place behind Bradl in the race won by Alex De Angelis.
