Smith records two fourth place finishes in KOTB opening rounds

Harley-Davidson® x DynoJet Factory Race Team rider Kyle Wyman raced his #1 Harley-Davidson Road Glide racing motorcycle to a pair of third-place results in the opening rounds of the 2026 Mission Foods King of the Baggers series. Wyman, the defending series champion, qualified third for the event with a best lap of 1:50.342, just behind teammate Bradley Smith, who qualified second at 1:50.052. In the 8-lap race on Friday Hayden Gillim led every lap as Wyman and Troy Herfoss battled for second and third place, with Herfoss across the line 0.268 seconds clear of Wyman and Smith fourth. On Saturday Gillim retired from the race on lap seven with a mechanical issue, handing the lead to Wyman. At the end of a drafting battle on the last lap, Herfoss took the win by 0.262 seconds over Factory Indian rider Rocco Landers with Wyman 0.280 seconds back in third place, and Smith in fourth place 0.333 behind. Big Diehl x Harley-Davidson Factory Racing James Rispoli finished fifth in both races.

“Any time you can leave Daytona with two podiums is a good weekend, because it can go wrong here,” said Wyman. “I think we made a really good step from yesterday to today and I’m much happier with how I rode today than yesterday. I know we want to win but we got good points this weekend and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season on the factory Harley-Davidson.”

After 2 of 14 rounds in the 2026 MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers series, Herfoss leads with 45 points, followed by Wyman and Gillim tied for second with 32 points, Smith with 26 points, and Rispoli with 22 points.
